  1. How to become an ASO in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)?

Tips to Pass the SSC CGL (Requirement for ASO)
For the preparation of SSC CGL, the candidate should not ignore the English as it contributes about 50% of the total strength of the paper. It is important that the candidate self evaluates and plans a strategy based on his strengths and weaknesses. Here we lay a basic preparation strategy which the candidate can modify as per his convenience. There are 3 Tiers for the Exams.

    Tier-1
Here is the ideal approach for the preparation for the Tier-1
    a) Starting from scratch the candidate takes 3 months to prepare to dedicate about 6 hours a day.
b)Concentrate on strengthening your English and Mathematics skills for clearing the tier-2 cut-off.
c)Don’t spend too much time on General studies and don’t refer to many books
    d) Practice from Previous year’s question papers and Mock tests
There is a great chance that the questions could be repeated fro the past papers and solving previous years papers can prove helpful.

    Tier-2:

    a) The preparation for the Tier-2 is based on English and Mathematics only. The preparation of Mathematics required understanding the concepts and speed while English requires memorizing Vocabulary and Grammar rules.
b)One has 3 months for preparing Tier-2. Again like the Tier-1 strengthen your basics and enhance your skills on English in topics like para jumbles and vocabulary, since it will require time to build vocabulary and experience to solve para jumbles. For Mathematics please do focus on Mensuration, Geometry and Algebra.
c)Ensure to have the above topics on your fingertips as about 20-30 questions are asked from these 3 topics alone.
d)Practice with as many mock tests a month before the actual exam. Solve the questions until you get it right.

    Tier-3
    ——–
The Tier-3 is based on an essay and we recommend all the candidates to read essays in a number of topics. Besides, the candidate should practice writing in the time limit and get the essay evaluated from an able faculty for errors. The scoring methods are quite subjective and the candidates should get the basic grammar and formats right.
