  1. Here are some of the recommended books for GATE Exam preparation for different subjects.

    Strategy for GATE Exam
    Any candidate preparing for the first time for the GATE examination should be prudent in the selection of the study material. It is greatly recommended that the candidate highlights the hard questions that are difficult to memorize. It is extremely important to do it for every concept and question for it helps to segregate the difficult ones from the others. This practice shall help the candidates to prepare as the exam draws nearer. The following books have been recommended by students and are segregated subject wise.

    1) Basic Thermodynamics – P.K Nag (solved and unsolved questions chapter 1 to 9 and 11)
    2) Heat Transfer – Heat transfer by PK NAG.
    3) Fluid Mechanics – Fluid Mechanics by K. SUBRAMANYA.

    5) Theory of Machines – SS RATAN, Gupta and Khurmi.
