Which exam is easier for preparation, Indian administrative services or Punjab civil services?
Every exam is difficult if not prepared with conviction and focus and no exam is difficult if one provides their full effort in it. A successful attempt in the examination requires a dedicated effort from the student in understanding the topics followed by sufficient practice that enables one to strengthen the concepts. Some of the key strategies in being successful in the examination are understanding the pattern of the examination, making notes that come in handy as the examination day approaches and practice to strengthen the concepts learnt by solving test papers. Seek the help of a mentor who can suggest you guidelines to achieve your goal.
Let us go through the pattern of both the examinations to understand what it takes to ace the examination. It involves understanding the pattern and the format of the examination and then executing a suitable action plan to reach the desired result.
According to some students, the State Civil Services Exams like PCS are tougher as they are based on facts and figures while the UPSC exam is more focussed on concepts. Thus to attempt the UPSC questions the student is expected to understand the concept and infer from it in order to come at the answer. And unlike the UPSC examination where the student has an idea of important topics, the information about the state is vast and unending which makes it all the more difficult. Having said that it is worth mentioning that hard work is the key to acing an exam. All you require is self-confidence and faith in your abilities. Though the syllabus for UPSC and PCS are both elaborative, however, the UPSC provides you with the liberty of presenting your views in a simple language while in the case of PCS exam it is required that the candidates present the points in a complex manner and most often one gets confused how to merge the points.
Having said that you need to be determined, focussed and strong-willed for the examination. The failure rate is high but with a sincere effort, you can ace the exam.
