Scholarship for GATE 2019

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an examination which is given by the science as well as engineering graduates who want to pursue masters or doctoral course in the same field. The technical postgraduate courses are available in the reputed engineering colleges of the country. These colleges are generally giving admission to the students by looking at their GATE score. The GMAT score may be used as a qualifying criterion or could be used as a score for direct admission into the college.

But, many students are not able to clear GMAT due to the financial constraints. Such students can avail financial assistance cum scholarship now. The student must get admission into the college in order to apply for the scholarship via GATE 2019. This assistantship/scholarship is provided for up to 2 years. The stipend of INR 12,400 is provided to the M.tech Students and INR 25,000 to the P.hd Students.

According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource & Development, the GMAT Score will be given a weight of 70%. The institute offering the scholarship to the students has to consider the GMAT Score. Along with this, the institute can take its own test or interview. Every institute offers a different number of seats for the candidates given the scholarship. However, the reservation for the various categories remains the same. All those institutes which are supported by the government and Ministry of Human Resource and Development provide a scholarship for the same.
The other scholarships and awards that are granted by the government will also be the taking the GATE Score as the minimum criterion for admission to the postgraduate colleges.

Apart from these scholarships, the GATE qualified candidates are also eligible for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) and SRF (Senior Research Fellowship).
