Recent Changes in IIT-JEE Mains and Advanced Exam

The IIT-JEE exam which is taken up by around 12 lakh candidates in India every year has always been a trend amongst the youngsters. The fad for giving the Engineering Entrance Exam for getting admissions into IIT’s and various engineering colleges has gained momentum with the current changes made in the examination by the government. Q. What will be the marking strategy?  – “Best of Two”

The good news is that the candidates have one added chance per year. That means the exam will be conducted twice a year. But the lighter part is that it is not mandatory for the student to sit for both the exams. The Student has an additional opportunity to give the exam two times but the marks will be considered for just one (The one in which the score will be high). This reminds me of something similar to “Best-of-three”.

Q. IIT-Advance will also be conducted twice?

Even though IIT- Mains will be held twice in a year but IIT-Advance will only be held once.

Q. Who will conduct the Exam?

The NTA (National Testing Agency) will now be conducting the Mains exam. But, the advance will be in the hands of IITs only.

Q. What is the mode of the exam?

The mode of examination will be Online/computer-based.

Q. When is the IIT-Mains exam now?

The exam will be conducted in the month of January 2019 in 8 different settings. The candidates can choose any one of them.
