NOTIFICATION ON UPSC PRELIMS CIVIL SERVICES EXAM 2018

The following notification is in accordance with the latest UPSC Civil Services Examination 2018. The examination is scheduled to be held on the 3rd of June, 2018. The written exam is divided into 2 sections

• PRELIMS and
• MAINS

PRELIMS are scheduled to be held in the month of June and are Part 1 of the examination. This exam is the most important and crucial exam out of the two. This exam is the deciding factor in your merit score. The MAINS exam, on the other hand, also known as the CSAT paper, is just a qualifying examination.

It is estimated that around 11 lakh aspirants fill the forms for civil services exam every year but only 5 lakh appear and gather the courage to attempt the examination in the first go. Out of these 5 lakh candidates again, only 15000- 16000 candidates qualify for the MAINS examination. This is not a fixed statistic score, it varies according to the candidates who attempted the examination. The third stage of the examination is the “INTERVIEW”, which then gauges the candidates who are selected to become IAS (Indian Administrative Services), IPS (Indian Police Services)  and IFS (Indian Foreign Services) officers respectively.  

The important announcements of next year’s examinations will be made on the 7th of February, 2018. It is known that the last date for completing the paperwork of the examination is 6th of March, 2018, according to UPSC board’s schedule.
