5 Habits to Maximise Productivity
“For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned”. Rightly quoted by Benjamin Franklin. Those who make the best use of their time to get maximum work done are productive people. This article is all about how to make the best your of your time.
1. Don’t leave it for later:
Do it then and there, don’t save emails and messages to reply later it takes time to re-read the messages again. Once you look at it just reply. It will save time in increase productivity. As Crystal Paine said “if you want to be more productive you need to be master of your minutes”.
2. Follow a schedule:
If you usually wake up at 6 AM, don’t sleep till 11 AM on a weekend. You’re body cannot handle the disruptions caused by irregular sleep pattern or REM sleep cycles. It will lead to an overall decrease in total productivity. Of course you can sleep a little extra on a weekend, you have earned at least that much.
3. Make plans for the week:
On weekends plan for the coming week, what better time to plan your week than during the weekend? That way, you don’t start Monday’s off in a total frenzy, feeling like you have 100 tasks to do but not knowing when to do them. Make sure you know what you’re doing and when you’re doing.
4. Follow your passions:
The more you pursue you’re interests, or passions – whether its learning new language(English, French etc),joining dance classes or preparing for government exams you should do it. Your body and mind needs a break from the monotonous routine. 5. Do not check e-mails/Messages/Facebook
early morning: It is very tempting your inbox first thing in the morning but you definitely should not. If you do you will get immediately distracted by all those small tasks and you will waste time thinking about then instead of handling the task at hand. You end up doing the small trivial tasks and miss out on BIG important ones. Plan and prioritize tasks before checking your mailbox.
These tips will help you save a lot of time once you start incorporating them into your lifestyle. You will get to know what really matters and this in turn will boost your overall productivity.
